Security Requirements

To ensure your protection, members must register an account to access myMCHCP.


The following account information is established when you register for myMCHCP.
  • Online ID
  • Password
  • Security Image
MCHCP recommends that you create a unique Online ID and a password that you can remember. Creating a unique Online ID and password ensures that only you will have access to your health care information available through myMCHCP.

Online ID

You may enter either of these identifying items as your Online ID:
  • Your MCHCPid
  • Your Online ID
Use this as a guide when creating an Online ID:
  • Online ID must contain between six and 50 numbers, letters and characters.
  • Your email can be used as an Online ID.
  • Online ID cannot be a nine-digit number resembling a Social Security number.
  • Online ID cannot be a ten-digit number resembling an MCHCPid.


Password requirements:
  • Must contain at least 8 characters.
  • Must contain a number.
  • Must contain a special character (such as ! or &).
  • Cannot contain your Online ID.

Security Image

You're asked to choose a security image. The security image you select appears in a group of images each time you enter your Online ID. Confirming your security image lets you know it is safe to enter your password.

Device Registration

You're asked to register the devices(s) you use to access myMCHCP. You will have to answer a security question (for example, your date of birth) before you register the device. Registrations are stored as cookies on your device.

If more than one MCHCP member uses a device, each member will need to register the device for his or his myMCHCP account.

If you access myMCHCP from a public or shared device, do not register the device. If you use a public or shared device, or simply decide not to register your device, you must answer a security question each time you access myMCHCP.

Reset Password

A password reset option is available should you forget your password. Select Forgot my password or security image and receive an email or text with a temporary password.

Account Lockout

If you make six unsuccessful login attempts, your account is locked. To remove the lock from your account, you must contact MCHCP Member Services at 800‑487‑0771 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding state and federal holidays.
